Yoga is wonderful! It’s even more magical when you share the practice with a partner.
Your partner can be anyone who shares your interest. Finding that person can be as simple as looking to the relationships that enrich your life: your child, a caring friend, your partner, you husband, your wife - anyone can be your yoga partner.
It can be a romantic experience, or simply a way for family or friends to connect and support one another.
Partner Yoga deepens your connection with others and helps build trust and compassion. It enables you to stretch further than usual and balance in ways you couldn’t by yourself. It teaches you to be present and to move with awareness, realising how each movement affects your partner.
What will happen in the class:
Working in partnership, you will share postures, working with and assisting each other towards steady improvement. Strength, balance, and concentration are shared, enhanced, and enjoyed. Your partner's presence does more than simply increase your strength or add stability to your pose while making conscious contact through your breathing, touch, and awareness - it co-creates an alignment that not only supports the physical body, but also touches the emotional and embraces the soul.
- During the workshop we will explore how deepen our connection to others and help build trust and compassion.
- Enable you to stretch further than usual and balance in ways we couldn’t by ourselves
- Allow you to move with more awareness, realising that our actions affect others
- Provide constant feedback to our actions by communicating with our partner as well as by experiencing how it feels when they stretch us
- Enhance communication skills using words, facial expressions, touch, eye-gazing & breath
- Help to explore safe and loving touch.
The workshop will use:
- Experiential practice, insightful theory
- Partner relaxation techniques
- Mindfulness and meditation
- Tantric practices
- Elements of Thai Yoga Massage
This is a great opportunity to open the heart and overcome past conflicts as well as create new friendships
